Onion

Onions have layers of thick, fleshy leaves. The outer layer is made of thin leaves. Size and shape vary. Raw onion has a very pungent flavour, while frying it tends to add sweetness to it.

Onion is one of our most common seasonings and can be used in practically any dish. Enjoy it raw in salads or on sandwiches. Fried in butter it adds flavour to brown stews, pies, soups and gratins.

Best stored at 2 to 4 °C.
