Beetroot sprouts (Beta vulgaris)

Beetroot sprouts are sprouted beetroot seeds. They are crisp, red and thin. The seed itself looks much like a black pepper corn. It often sits firmly on the sprout and must be discarded before eating the sprout. The sprouts are juicy with a neutral slightly earthy flavour.

Beetroot sprouts add colour to salads, sandwiches and warm meals. Beetroot sprouts are very decorative.

Best stored wrapped at 1 to 4 °C.
