
Turnip
The turnip is a root vegetable with a yellowish-white base and a pink-purple top. The pulp, on the other hand, is white and has a mild cabbage flavour, much milder than the rutabaga.
Turnip is exquisite on its own and fried in butter. It is also works well in brown stews, baked or raw grated in salads.
Best stored in a refrigerator at 2 to 4 °C.
