Basil is an easy-to-use herb that marries beautifully with most foods. Basil has a sweet and aromatic flavour.
Many people's favourite among the fresh herbs and one of the main ingredients in the Italians' beloved pesto. A must in pasta and tomato dishes. Try it with mozzarella, some tomato and olive oil! Loses its flavour if heated so add it at the end when cooking.
Basil is sensitive to cold, best stored fresh at 12 to 15 °C and watered from below when needed. However, it can also be cut and frozen.
